Carpenter Nature Center protects 725 acres of natural and restored habitat and provides outdoor recreational and educational opportunities for more than 30,000 visitors each year. CNC charges only a small program fee to ensure access for everyone. We rely on our volunteers, along with individual and corporate friends and donors to stay open 361 days each year.

As a private, non-profit organization, Carpenter Nature Center heavily relies on donations from generous supporters. Your financial contribution helps keep our trails open and available to the public, allows us to continue our education and habitat work, and supports the physical and mental health of the community.

Carpenter St. Croix Valley Nature Center is a 501(c) (3) non-profit organization, and our E.I.N. # is 23-7275337. Our full legal name is the Thomas E. & Edna D. Carpenter Foundation.

Additional Ways to Give

Appreciated stocks may offer you substantial tax advantages. Contribute securities that have increased in value and avoid capital gains tax that is incurred when you sell appreciated assets. You’ll also get a charitable tax deduction for the full market value of the assets, regardless of what you paid for them.

ATTENTION ANDERSEN RETIREES— To help make charitable donations of Andersen shares convenient and cost effective for shareholders, Andersen has established a relationship with the St. Croix Valley Foundation (SCVF). Under this program, you can make unrestricted gifts of your shares to the SCVF, or you can use your shares to set up a Donor Advised Fund with the SCVF. A donor-advised fund allows you to recommend how the SCVF will use the proceeds of your donation in the future. Click here for more information about this partnership.

The IRA Charitable Rollover allows individuals age 70.5 or older to transfer up to $100,000 per year directly from their IRA        accounts to qualified charities without incurring federal income tax on the withdrawal. The direct transfer to charity also satisfies your required minimum distribution. Please consult your financial advisor to find out how this would work for you.

NOT YET REACHED 70.5 YEARS OF AGE?—No problem. You can structure your annual gifts to be distributed in small amounts initially and schedule the bulk of your gift for when you reach the qualifying age.
